We would also invite all of you who have not the time, health or resources for volunteering on the field, to support an indipendent volunteer. As you know, many of our foreign volunteers come already under international volunteers associations’ patronage. But , still, some of them are independent, they spend their own money to reach Cambodia and give a helpful hand. In Don Bosco we can assist with the visas, food and lodging of most of them, but we do not have funds to pay them a flight ticket or give them some pocket money. It is pretty important for young volunteers to have enough cash to survive, as senior ones usually have their own financial resources.

Nowadays, the social communication section has the most need of volunteers, because it is the newest project in Don Bosco Sihanoukville. In its first step of development, the section needs professional volunteers in the areas of social communication (journalism, audiovisual edition, web development, scriptings and computer programming, research, photography, design and English-native-speaking teachers.) Some volunteers\' organizations continue to send volunteers, but the problem is that finding volunteers in these specific areas is not easy. Then we have to turn to independent volunteers and they are not easy either to find.

If we create a fund to support independent volunteers, we will be able to improve projects that need professionals like the social communication section.
