Newsflash

On February 24th our school received a very important visitor, Mr. Norng Soyeth, Director of Marketing of the Port Authority of Sihanoukville and the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) under development near the new airport. Mr. Soyeth conferred with our rector, father John Visser, and visited the various sections of our Technical School. The SEZ is an industrial area currently under development, and , once completed, will draw thousands of workers from all the province, hence the visit of Mr. Soyeth is pretty important as many of our students will likeky find a job overthere after their studies.

The School

An overview of the Technical School.

The School enrolls 504 students (254 for the coming 2009/2010 academic year), 60 of them are girls, studying
in the Secretarial section.

Nearly 30 percent of the students are full-boarders. The rest live in town or in neighboring villages.

We have 60 teachers working at the school, most of them are Khmer. We receive the help of many

foreign volunteers, during the academic year.

This coming year we hope to open an evening literacy center for young people  The project is waiting the full approval of
the Ministry of Education. Young workers will be welcome to join in the evenings.
