Welcome to the news of Don Bosco Technical School of SihanoukvilleMarch 2010 A group of 19 students plus three trainers from Singapore Polytechnics, lead by Mrs Delonix Pan-Cheong, long-time friend of DonBoscoTech and lecturer at the SocialComm Section, arrived in Sihanoukville on the first week of march to conduct seminars and give lectures to all the students of the various sections of the school. Most of the workshops will be focused on English language skills. Thanks a lot to those generous people who came here to help our kids !
On February 24th our school received a very important visitor, Mr. Norng Soyeth, Director of Marketing of the Port Authority of Sihanoukville and the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) under development near the new airport. Mr. Soyeth conferred with our rector, father John Visser, and visited the various sections of our Technical School. The SEZ is an industrial area currently under development, and , once completed, will draw thousands of workers from all the province, hence the visit of Mr. Soyeth is pretty important as many of our students will likeky find a job overthere after their studies. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The town's dumpsite: our students visited the place and shot some pictures and video.
January 2010in the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the presence of Don Bosco's Salesians in the world, DonBoscoTech held a special sporting event, kind of a small olimpics. The winners were premiated by Fr. John Visser, president of the Don Bosco Foundation of Cambodia and rector of the DonBoscoTech of Sihanoukville. Below you may see some pictures and a video shot at the event:
